Could the Maldives be on your radar this year?  We are assisting our SE Asian based partner on their search for an experienced Executive Chef – Sous Chefs ready to take the next step are encouraged to apply.

The client operates a high end resort in the Maldives and their current Executive Chef is moving on within the chain. This is a top performing, small and unique, 5 star boutique resort with an excellent reputation. With 5 restaurants, plus in room dining and bars you will have a background in fine dining cuisine with resort/hotel experience an advantage.  Reporting to the expat General Manager, you will have the opportunity to use amazing ingredients, bringing food to unimaginable levels.

Australian trained chefs have a great reputation and this clients next Executive Chef needs to be a superstar. Our ideal candidate:

  • Is trade qualified and has extensive experience working at fine dining/Michelin star level. This resort has less than 100 rooms/suites/villas and 5 restaurants so experience working in a multi outlet establishment would be beneficial.
  • Can lead, mentor and motivate a team with differing backgrounds and nationalities all whilst living and working together.
  • Can manage the kitchens whilst still enjoying cooking.  You like to lead and plan, but you love to cook and create and remain hands on
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, you like people and you enjoy speaking with guests.  You are approachable and professional.
  • Is dedicated to food quality and product control and has outstanding knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards
  • Presentation and food quality is everything and your eye for detail is outstanding
  • Has experience creating recipes and planning menus, costing food, ordering (especially through global suppliers) whilst understanding the logistics of working on an island
  • Is dedicated, ambitious and loyal – this is an overseas position and you will need to commit.  This client has been very specific about career stability
  • Wants to live and work on an island in the Maldives.  You are comfortable with spending extended times on an island and you have a flexible nature when it comes to work.  This role includes single onsite accommodation only.
